Can RHINO Help Me Find a Builder?
RHINO Steel Buildings provides a database of building builders for all of our customers. These builders have either worked on RHINO buildings in the past or have the skills required to erect your steel building. Our database is mapped out by location and zip code so that you can find a company that is local to you. We recommend that you use the database to source potential builders, and then do your own research on each company.
What Should I Look for in a Builder?
Strong References
The best way to find a steel building builder is to ask around for a good recommendation. If you don’t know anyone personally who has used a builder, read reviews and ask builders for their references. Don’t hesitate to contact a former customer to get a firsthand account of their experience with the builder. You’ll never regret doing your due diligence!
Past Projects
Has the builder worked on steel building kits in the past? If they’ve never erected a prefabricated building, they may not be the right choice. Find a builder who has experience with the type of building you purchased, or even one who has worked on a RHINO building specifically, to ensure the smoothest building process.
Should I Consider a DIY Build?
Erecting your RHINO Steel building yourself is a possibility, but it’s not for everyone. Going the DIY route takes a lot of work and you need to be certain you have the skills needed to erect your building safely. There are two main things you must be comfortable doing in order to build your own RHINO building:
Reading Building Plans
Reading a set of building plans requires proficiency in construction blueprints. While every RHINO Steel building comes with an installation manual and construction DVD, they are there to assist in the building process, not teach someone from scratch. Erecting an entire prefabricated steel building is not for beginners. But if you have experience working with building plans and feel comfortable with them, then doing a DIY build may be right for you.
Operating Heavy Machinery
Erecting a steel building involves using large pieces of construction machinery. Equipment like forklifts, cranes, and other power loaders may be involved. If you do not have extensive experience operating this kind of machinery, hire a steel building builder.
